Senior Care Home Services

Fall Prevention

Preventing falls at home starts with spotting and removing anything that could cause a trip or slip. Our team provides safety assessments and fall prevention strategies to help seniors stay safe and independent. This could include making your living space safer by:

  • clearing clutter
  • fixing loose items securely like rugs, or table fixtures
  • Assessing whether assistive equipment or better lighting is needed and implementing equipment via our partners at NRS HealthCare.

Staying active through regular movement within one’s means, keeping an eye on medications and liaising with GP’s where necessary, and managing health issues also play an important role in helping you stay steady on your feet and our carers and admin team are trained to assist in all these aspects.

Meal Preparation

Assisting with meal preparation is especially valuable for older adults or those with challenging health conditions, as it supports their overall well-being and allows them to have delicious and nutritious meals that suit their tastes and dietary needs. Alongside their families and/or support network our carers can:

  • Plan nutritional meals tailored to their tastes and likings
  • Assist with grocery shopping
  • Prepare and cook meals
  • Provide support with eating and drinking
  • Maintain a record of food intake where needed

This support will allow for improved overall nutritional intake. In addition, a consistent schedule brings a sense of structure and comfort, which can be especially reassuring for those with memory issues. It gives our clients more confidence and independence, and can be a chance to connect with others or with our carers, making the day feel a little less lonely and a lot more enjoyable.

Medication Management

Managing medication at home is about supporting individuals to take their prescribed medicines safely and on time, while supporting their independence and well-being. Our carers are guided by a personalised care plan and will administer appropriate support and assistance where needed. This can range from:

  • Offering reminders, helping with opening packaging, and administering medication where necessary
  • Understanding what medications are being used, storing them safely, and keeping clear records of what was taken and when
  • Liaising with GPs and Pharmacists to order and collect prescriptions in a timely manner
  • Having clear and continuous communication with clients,  families, and health professionals to monitor and review medications and their effectiveness
  • Returning any medications that are no longer needed

Our goal is to support our client’s health while encouraging as much independence as possible, and maintaining a sense of trust that our caregivers are on top of and up to date with their medications.

Transportation Services

Our carers and admin team work in conjunction in order to support our clients to attend their appointments and other needs. This could include:

  • Organising specialist transportation to GP and hospital appointments, ensuring that adjustments are made to accommodate for any conditions or assistive equipment
  • Providing accompaniment to appointments
  • Offering companionship whilst travelling to and from social events
  • Providing support with running errands

This service is vital in allowing our clients to stay on top of and manage their appointments without the stress of organising transportation. It also allows them to foster independence by maintaining their social life and remaining proactive with personal errands, all whilst feeling safe and at ease that they are in good and well trained hands.

Domiciliary Care

Domiciliary care is vital in helping individuals create a sustainable routine whilst maintaining their independence, dignity, and  well-being. Our carers are thoroughly trained to assist with daily living activities that often require physical contact. These activities could range from personal hygiene, mobility support, household maintenance, and emotional support. Our carers can assist with:

  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Grooming
  • Support in using the toilet, assisting with managing incontinence, and monitoring and cleaning catheters.
  • Mobility related issues, i.e. getting in and out of bed

Personal care assistance at home can greatly benefit our clients overall well-being, as it allows them to remain in the security and familiarity of their own home, whilst navigating their health issues. It also enables them to continue their lifestyle and not have to deviate too far from their regular routine. Personal care at home is often a more cost-effective option than residential care, particularly for those that do not require 24 hour care.

At Caring Lane, we guarantee complete professionalism and the highest level of care, so that our clients are at ease knowing they are receiving the quality of care they deserve and need, without losing their independence.
